Disclaimer: I only use it for pouring. I can't comment on how it grinds espresso or french press, but I will say it's smooth with no lumps or powder. good things first It's a nice machine and it grinds quickly and accurately as you would expect from something in this price range. The grind settings are almost unlimited, so you can find the exact grind that suits the beans you use and your taste preferences. This is a hefty item, not the best for travel unless weight is an issue. But if you're obsessed with your coffee, chances are you'll make adjustments, right? Now for the things that might influence your decision (I'll buy it anyway): 1. The advert says it contains 35g of beans. Well, the hopper at the bottom can hold 35g, but you won't put more than 30g into the grind hopper at the top, so you'll need to do multiple grinds to make more than one cup. Well, it's a dream, you don't mind.2. Static! The body of the mill is all metal, as are the grinding burrs, so the ground material accumulates a lot of static electricity as it rotates and grinds, and therefore sticks to the bottom of the mill and the walls of the receiving hopper. Luckily the kit comes with a brush that you will need. It's uncomfortable but not dirty. Final Thought: I like things well made that are well designed, work as advertised, look good and are fun. This coffee grinder shines in all areas.
