Review on πŸ” Optimized for SEO: Fieldpiece SDMN6 Pressure Switch Tester by Mike Wallace

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A well designed product justifies its price and convenience

Amazing tool - precise and reliable The pressure switch tester integration is a well thought out concept and very well designed to fit into this compact form factor. Fieldpiece used to sell a pressure switch tester separately (SDMN1 I think) which has been discontinued in favor of this product. Is the pressure switch tester worth the extra $100 over its closest competitor? Probably no. Especially when you factor in the cost of a small 6V vacuum pump and additional silicone tubing. But that's what they get for innovation by offering convenience and monopoly (only Fieldpiece offers that). So I can't complain. How is this different from other products? Other brand and non-brand (Chinese) pressure gauges use differential pressure sensors. Fieldpiece uses self-contained pressure sensors on each port. This allows each port to be read separately, especially when both sensors are inserted into the duct/plenum to read static pressure. Other manometers only allow differential displays for this application. Also, standalone sensors tend to be slightly more accurate. Drift in one does not affect the other. Warranty repairs are also easy, since only the defective pressure sensor needs to be replaced. It's important to note that Fieldpiece only covers the warranty if you buy it from one of their authorized resellers, either direct or through Revain. Fieldpiece will not warranties if sold and shipped by Revain. They have a list of resellers on their website (who also sell Revain) - so make sure you check before you buy as these are expensive devices.
