This key worked great on my 2014 Equinox. I wanted it as a spare key to hide on the outside of the car in case the key fob or lock is lost. The dealer couldn't get a plain key without a remote and wanted TOO MUCH money. But be careful: find a locksmith that will work with you at a reasonable price BEFORE you order the key! I called half a dozen locksmiths and they all wanted MORE than a dealer to cut a key. Just because it's a new technology, many people think it's okay to rip off a customer. Finally found an old locksmith that will do it for $30. The programming instructions for my machine were easy, but others can be more difficult. I'm glad I did, but before I found that one locksmith I thought I'd throw away the key I bought and go to the dealer.
