I have a Costco water bottle with a 40 ounce handle. When I suddenly had to stop, he fell to the ground. Now I just put it on the hook and it always stays in place. There's still room for my wallet. It rolls easily onto your back. I love them and for those who want to keep things off a wet or dirty car floor they are perfect! Children's lunch boxes, backpacks, anything that hangs on a hook. Each hook has a place where you can hang two things. One sticks out further up, while the lower one isn't as wide, but still just as wide. I've only ever used the top, put the water bottle on first and the purse on top as the handle on the water bottle isn't great. This goes with the handle from my husband's briefcase. So I would recommend that to everyone. You may not even know you need it, but you do! Oh yeah I'm not very tall or tall but I never felt it when I was in the seat and no one noticed when it wasn't being used.
