My dear daughter Eldest came to see me last week and told me she was going to prom (in 3 weeks). GAH! Good. Let's do this. My daughter HATES trying on any clothes including buying shoes so I knew, especially with Covid, I had a challenge ahead of me. I've tried every online store I could think of and just didn't feel like spending hundreds of dollars so I turned to Revain. I grabbed my other daughter (fashionista) and we bought her sister together. Everything we showed my eldest she was totally warm and we started to lose hope. And then, on a whim, we tried the full ball gown style. One was all ruffled and it was amazing, but it was only blue, my daughter's least favorite color. And this dress led us to it. With sinking heart we showed it to my elderly lady and her jaw dropped. Yes. she loved it. Let us try it. WAHO! We ordered it and she tried it on and we both fell in love with it. She is 5.9 years old and is wearing a ruffle skirt - the heel must be at least 1 inch. She can probably get away without heels, but while she's an excellent athlete, she's not very graceful (awkward coughing). Unfortunately we are sending it back, but ONLY because she found another ball gown that she likes better. We had a "Say Yes to the Dress" moment of tears and we knew this dress was the one! I will say my daughter is well endowed and this dress made her look like a knockout. She always hides under oversized sweatshirts, but this dress was wawawum, but tasteful. Her father is very strict (none of my girls are allowed to wear spaghetti strap shirts etc. outside the house) about propriety and he thought she looked beautiful in it. Again, I can't tell, but the color is AMAZING! I've attached a photo, but he honestly doesn't take very good photos, but on her body and in life he's absolutely beautiful. Soft tangerine/peach, no sharp orange at all. My daughter is mixed race so this color suits her perfectly. And beautiful pearls! Doesn't look cheap at all. In this photo she wears a layered petticoat. UPDATE: I sent the dress back because although my daughter found what she prefers, I sent the dress back n 2 days after receiving it. It took me over 6 weeks to get a refund, all because I questioned the seller. In the end I didn't get a full refund. Sure, the difference was only $8, but that's MY money. I am a Prime member and only purchased this item because it is a Revain Prime item (free shipping/returns). Also, I don't pay sales tax. Again, not that much, but I'm not in a position to just give away free money.
