Better/cheaper alternative to pigtail cable

Here's what you need to know: If you are using a pigtail adapter, plug the RV cable's 50 amp connector into the 30 amp pigtail adapter. The adapter hangs outside of the camping power supply. Where your 50 amp plug plugs into a 30 amp outlet, it is exposed to the weather. When it rains, rainwater can run down the cord into the plug/socket and cause serious problems. Shorted and/or burnt spark plugs. Not good. Using this solid adapter keeps the entire assembly inside and under the cover of the RV power box. However, the added weight of a 50A plug farther from the RV outlet may cause the fixed adapter/plug to sag or pull out of the outlet. The solution to this is to wrap the bungee cord around the 50A plug (or through the hole in the retractable handle) the full length of the box/stand assembly. This keeps everything sealed in the jar. Works perfectly. And these solid adapters are much more economical than pigtails and serve the same purpose. Inexpensive enough to have a spare on hand.
