Cheap plastic thread on the end of the charger.
The plastic broke when the loading end was removed from the ball joint for the first time. Watch the video, it shows you what to look out for. And the sad thing is I have another one on the way from another release I had before the plastic broke. Very cheap for the money. It charged my phone well and I have a thick Otterbox protector and it held my iPhone XS Max well because its bottom expands. But who cares if the plastic holding it to the stand is brittle. In addition, heat wears down this plastic quickly.
