Review on 🚲 Slime Sport Tire Pressure Gauge with Digital Display by Daniel Fung

Could be much better

This digital pressure gauge was priced right so I bought a pair to put in my cars. After using them a few times I'm going back to the old school analog tire gauges I've used for the last 20 years. First problem: you have to press a button to turn it on. Yes, it's electronic and of course needs to be turned on, but it's actually very annoying. I'm used to just sticking a pressure gauge on the valve and reading it immediately. The button is another extra step that I didn't have to think about before. If there was a way to turn it on automatically, it would be easier to use. Second problem: the display is upside down. I don't know how other people feel about checking the pressure, but I'd like to be able to see the gauge on the valve. A car tire attached to a car standing on the ground will reverse the numbers when the display is facing up. More annoying than it should be. The third problem: there is no way to change the battery. It's all self-contained and meant to be thrown away when the battery dies. Really wasteful. I have dark colored cars and their interior gets very hot. This should decrease battery life and reduce sensor life. Fourth problem: Relates to problem #3, since it is electronic, it may fail at any moment. The screen can be damaged. The battery can die. I still keep a pencil tire gauge in the glove box next to the digital gauge. Pencils take up almost no space unlike this electronic sensor which is bulkier. A pencil gauge can break, but it's not as likely as dying one of these. I think it was worth the few bucks it was worth because I realized that digital gauges weren't for me and all the others were way more expensive. .

Pros
  • Versatility: A tire gauge that measures pressure in psi. Inch, kPa and bar
Cons
  • Almost never
