Dead easy! - Aquarium Substrate

After reading the reviews and studying this product for several weeks, I realized that the most important thing is not to wash the living shit out of it, but to cure it under the sun. And I did, spending less than 15 minutes total lifting my three bags and ending up with a great tank with no clouds. I filled a 5 gallon bucket halfway and poured one of the bags into it. As you can see from the photos, the resulting slime is not something you would NEVER, EVER, EVER add to an existing or new aquarium! I poured out this porridge of clay soup and filled the bucket halfway. I did this about 5 more times until the water was 90% clear. I repeated this process twice more for the other two bags and then laid out the Flourite on the fitted sheet. I should note that I could easily continue rinsing until the gravel was crystal clear if I wanted to, but I didn't. , after about three hours in the sun, I poured it into two buckets. The fluorite was dry to the bone and contained a million tiny particles, so it was a bit dusty. I poured about a gallon of water into each bucket to keep the dust down and then added it to the tank. I then filled it up five gallons at a time by pouring water over one of the rocks in my tank. I immediately added my plants and despite all the gravel rustling to root them, there was not a cloud. Hooray!
