Great meter: Multitester

Where to start. First the cons. Flops in the box, not in a bag or anything. It looked like a return, the packaging was so bad. I watched a few unboxing videos and apparently that's how it was delivered. 2) The way the molding is cut left these little yellow flakes everywhere and overall it looked like terrible quality control. There is also some dust and scratches on the underside of the display case. The scratch is clearly visible in the light, but not visible at all when the backlight is on. While I'm concerned about a brand new $600 counter, it's not enough for me to justify a refund. 3) There is a green dot in the bottom left corner of the clamshell that looks like a marker or something and I tried using 99% alcohol. and the dot just laughed and mocked me. I assume he will stay there. 4) AC current is off rating but within specification in the mA range. I forgot to check this when taking pictures and don't want to update. I haven't tested 10A or uA at all and I don't have any standards to actually do this. Good 1) All other meter functions are accurate. It was calibrated in June 2020 and is accurate to the least significant number, except obviously for drag. 2) Using the LoΞ© and Rel function, I was able to measure with a stability of 0.18 ohms, which can be compared to Keithley in 4-wire. filter mode. This took a while as I left the multimeter on for 30 minutes and shorted the wires until it was stable and used rel in a steady state and then measured a low resistance at which it eventually stabilized at the same Keithley value. Not the best setting, but it was just a quick test. Additionally, resistance across the board has performed reasonably well and is well within spec. 3) The meter is very durable and feels good in the hand, it's quite large but with all the features it has, the size doesn't bother me at all. Also the cables it comes with feel really good and better than the ones my other gauges came with. 4) Passthrough mode is very fast, faster than my Keithley. 5) AC+DC, DC+AC etc modes use this meter for this type of measurement as all my desktop meters switch relays back and forth to take double measurements. If you want the lowest value is every 1 second, or you can set a specific time for it to record so it knows how often to sample as it's limited to 15000 readings. Finally, the diode open circuit voltage/continuity is 5.4V at 1mA. It could light up all standard LEDs without any problems. Keithley in pictures in Cal. and is accurate, the standard used for testing was DMMCheck Plus r6. All in all it's a great gauge but either mine was in a rough batch or Fluke's quality control absolutely sucks because there were some issues and for the amount you're paying for this gauge it should be flawless. Edit: I uploaded the photos in order, but Revane kind of scattered them all over the place. Both meters have voltage readings and do the resistance separately.

Pros
  • Large 50000 counter, 1/4 VGA display with white backlight
Cons
  • There are disadvantages
