This Delta RP33794 adapter is a bomb. Take a piece of plain 1/2" copper tubing and position it about 1/4" from the finished wall surface and pull You fasten it tightly with a set screw Outer and inner o-rings ensure a snug fit and prevent water from running back from the end Thoroughly clean the copper pipe and deburr the end of the pipe due to the inner o-ring a little plumbing grease (I use like Super Lube) onto the plug and gently slide the adapter onto the copper plug. DO NOT overtighten the set screw or you may accidentally rub a hole in the 1/2" copper plug. Then apply a good coat of sanitary grease and hand tighten the tub spout to the finished tub wall Finish with a small roll of 100% bathroom silicone and you're done Delta makes good products - stay away from the generic Danco junk they sell at Lowes and elsewhere. You pay more - but you get what you pay for.
