Very impressed with these lights. Very easy to install, I use a regular wall switch as I use these in our off grid home, although we are connected to both AC and DC I like to use DC whenever possible to save energy. Unlike other CFLs I've tested; These actually used exactly the advertised power, not up to 50 percent more. I used one in a room with a 25w DC incandescent bulb that was about 30 years old and eventually broke. The amount of light seems a little less, but I think it's just due to the shape of the light trying to fill an 8x12 room with a slight tilt and a flat ceiling, and not a regular household incandescent bulb. In general there is no noticeable difference from the white ceiling/walls in the pantry so it shines very well. Therefore I would say that the lumen specifications are correct and correspond to a 25 watt light bulb. For those in bug areas, we've found that "daylight" bulbs attract a lot more bugs at night and they'll find their way in or wait for the door to open, so always look for a warm white. This is a warm white light, slightly whiter than incandescent bulbs.
