Review on 🎥 Amcrest AWC195-B: 1080P Webcam with Mic for Desktop - HD USB Web Camera with Privacy Cover, Wide Angle Lens & Superior Low Light Performance by Jason Sisawang

Installation: Setting up this camera was very easy. I tried it on 4 different computers, 3 Windows 10 environments and a Linux computer. Installation on two laptops was very easy, the right driver was found automatically and the camera became the default camera. Although you can easily switch between two different cameras via Zoom and Google Meets. The Windows 10 desktop environment has some additional security settings that I set and I had to give the camera additional permissions. This should mimic the end user desktops we support. It worked as expected with any camera or peripheral. Installing Linux was also surprisingly easy. Sometimes I need to find and download the right content for devices that aren't directly supported, but Ubuntu had the right driver and it was almost as easy as on other systems. Usage: It's amazing compared to my old camera (very old Logitech), but it's not amazing. What surprised me was the quality of both of my laptops. One laptop is a personal Lenovo which is about 7 years old and was the best in the line. The other is a brand new Dell Precision. The quality of this camera is so superior to these two in terms of image quality that I was very surprised. The other part that amazed me was the sound quality. The sound quality picks up everything within a few feet of the microphone, but then cancels out most other noises. It's not as good as really high quality headphones, but for the first time I felt like I didn't need headphones for a Zoom meeting. I've used this camera as my only camera while working from home and have gotten better picture reviews, especially when I have the lights off in my office and it seems to pick up the monitor light on my face well enough to take a picture record. I look lighter than me. I can run 4-6 Zoom/Google meetings a day with a few Chime and Webex meetings here and there. I've also tested this with some of my videos for my workouts and am impressed so far. I've even used this on a four computer USB hub and have been able to seamlessly switch between computers when using this device between them. This was the most impressive. Issues: The mount doesn't hold up well on the monitor when trying to align the camera on either side. Not a big problem, but it would be nice to be able to lock it in a little better. When mounted on a monitor, the camera cannot be rotated/tilted sideways. For those of us working in a multi-monitor environment, this means we can't have it on the second monitor where we do most of our non-critical work. This usually means that he goes to the monitor with the main tasks. Again, it's not a big deal, but I'd like it on a different monitor with the ability to tilt it about 15 degrees. The biggest issue I had is the small door that covers the chamber itself (opens to reveal the chamber). The exit is suitable from one side. If you open it too far it will pop out. It usually moves the camera as well, and sometimes if you move too quickly when closing it will knock the camera away from the monitor, or at least move it. While you can fix it with a gentle wipe, it looks like the little plastic cover will wear down over time and won't be able to stay on. Overall Impression: Overall, I really like this product. I've always been loyal to Logitech, from gaming keyboards and mice to devices with cameras. But for the price I think it's a really great product. I will buy another one for my wife. Rarely do I like something so quickly. It has become a standard tool for me that I use on a daily basis. I didn't have high expectations as these cameras have never worked well for me in the past, but this one makes me think their technology has gotten better. I would recommend this product and look forward to the opportunity to test it. I used to review Amcrest products and switched to them because I was unfamiliar with the brand, but I definitely take your products more seriously now.
