Firstly the material itself is high quality, it's not cheap at all and paper thin. It offers good support but is not soft. That's good because it holds its structure well, but if you're looking for a memory foam feel, this isn't it. It doesn't put too much pressure on the lower back like many lumbar supports. It stays in place well once you've got that sorted out thanks to the case with the straps provided (note cross straps on front, see image). If you are looking for a solid support that offers enough help and no pain, this is a good choice. If you're looking for something soft that conforms to your spine like a pillow, look elsewhere.
