Good product, be careful

I am not an expert on bikes, I can not name the details of the bike, I just love to ride. And I am a pensioner, a woman with no technical training. Having rarely used a very nice and comfortable bike that I bought many years ago, it was either ride it or get rid of it. So I pulled it out, pumped up the tires and hit the road. Pushing it up the very steep gravel road to my house, I stopped to rest and was unable to get off the bike. No stand. I ordered BV Alloy after reading the reviews and looking at the prices. Arrived quickly, in a long box hidden in a mailbox. I was surprised at how heavy the stand was and how much pressure it took to open and close part of the stand. There were no instructions on how or where to install it, but after looking at some Revain reviews and accompanying photos, I figured it out. The kit also didn't come with a tool for tightening and loosening the odd bolts/screws, but I looked in my tool box and found a tool that fit and worked perfectly. Setting up the stand took about 5 minutes. I chose to put it on the left side of the bike to avoid derailleurs, cables, etc. Not sure if I installed it in my preferred position but it works very well and holds the bike best when the kickstand is fully extended. but can also hold it in the least extended position. When riding and pedaling, it doesn't bother the rotation of the tires or my feet. It has a lot of kick though and I injured myself when I opened it with my foot in my garage while standing on the back wheel with my left foot in front of the counter and my right foot behind. I used my right foot to open the stand and my left foot was too close. The stand hit me on the leg, touched the stain and immediately peeled off the skin. When I performed this maneuver I was in an awkward position and I was wearing slippers; most likely won't happen again.
