I love regular #2 pencils. I love a sharp blade. I believe metal sharpeners can do what a plastic joint can. I've always used double hole sharpeners because it was convenient or affordable. I bought them to avoid the added cost of an extra sharpening hole that I don't use. I prefer the size of the sharpener with 2 holes. They are ideal for your pocket or wherever. I've never worried about those catching scraps of paper because if the bin isn't available or the paper is crumpled I have to be outside so no worries.
