Adjustable Relief Valve Overview

This small PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE was ordered for a reverse osmosis pressure system as added protection should the water pump pressure switch fail and the pump continue to develop unsafe system pressure it can damage the system. There was absolutely no written instructions from the manufacturer in the box! I was fortunate to find a reviewer who actually mentioned below what water pressure range each spring represents: Manufacturer's specs: Yellow from 25-50 Red from 51-100 Silver from 101-150 Blue from 151-200 I ended up with the red spring used because it is between the safe range of my water pressure system. The safe range I needed was above 85psi for the relief valve to open and release the pressure until it was 80psi again. To adjust the relief valve: 1) There are two nuts on it. First, decide in which area you want your system to operate safely. 2) Unscrew the top completely and insert the correct color spring for your system. 3) For example, I used a red feather. Tighten the top nut to increase the actuation range from 51 PSI to 100 PSI before opening the relief valve. I was able to test it on my system until I could narrow it down to 85psi where it would safely open and depressurize to 80psi. I took off a star because there were no instructions for the little thing!
