Review on Allen Sports Deluxe 4 Bike Trunk by Matthew Aiono

At first this thing was too hopeful. Says 4 bikes, bike rack. Not as much. Tested this thing around town and seemed to hold up well over bumps and what not. Decided to make the mistake of taking it fully loaded again in Idaho. Failed miserably! The small support bars that hold the main bar that holds the actual bar have come out of the holes they are supposed to fit in and are bending the ends causing the bar to sag. We left early in the morning so it was dark and you couldn't see how the switch worked. As I kept glancing back to double check things, I noticed that the bike rack looks a bit off. I pulled into a rest area and sure enough, the support bars popped out, catching the post and dragging my bike tire across the ground. After the "repair" the racks were on their way again. Crazy because this tire cost me $86! In a nutshell. I ended up buying some straps and a vise, bending the ends as they were, using the straps and tying the rods where they should be. Biggest pose I've bought. Should be better known. If you are looking for a 4 bike bike rack, spend good money and don't buy this one.
