Review on ๐Ÿงน Efficient Hoover FloorMate Deluxe Hard Floor Cleaner Machine: Wet Dry Vacuum FH40160PC - Silver by Jeff Young

Revainrating 1 out of 5

It cleans well but the motors are bad. So far two devices have failed due to daily use

****Please vote and click my review as helpful. I want people to know that while a device is good for its intended purpose, sooner or later it's likely to break. Hoover is aware of this and should appropriately address the engine issue. Google it and you will find many other consumers complaining about the same problem. ****Update 2/2019: I use the new backup model once a weekend to clean because the brushes on the other model have stopped rotating (about 8 months). This new one doesn't work anymore either - same problem. The brushes do not rotate. I went to the Hoover website to get a manual and you know what? Hoover no longer has any of the Floormate models for sale and this model is already on sale. It looks like they are trying to clear all inventory asap. Revain still have models for sale but I don't want to buy another unit and replace it with a Hoover when they stop selling it. Such a disappointment. Was looking for something that can clean floors without a mop. SERIOUS. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY ON IT. Update 7/2018: My original device that was replaced with a Hoover no longer works. The brushes no longer rotate. That day I had to mop the floors for a party so I used a new spare model. Update 11/2017: I spilled some milk and wanted to show a video of me vacuuming up the mess and then cleaning up. I still think it's a great vacuum but I just dread the day it dies on me. Update 4/2017: The device I bought directly from Hoover died. I plugged it in and turned it on. It did the same as the old device where it would turn on for a second but couldn't really stay on. This unit is only 4 months old and came direct from Hoover. Again I have a defective block. The vacuum cleaner works well, but the motor is defective. I need to take it to a repair shop, but I still have a spare unit to use for now. Keep in mind that I only mop my floors every two weeks, 3 times a month maximum. Just doing the usual cleaning, nothing major. Update 2/2017: So I took the broken block to the workshop just before Christmas 2016. I only received it at the end of January 2017. The reason for this is that the workshop could not repair the device and requested a replacement device. So I finally got my new Hoover head and it only comes with a brush. It has a teal color and is designed for multiple floors, which means you don't have to change brushes if you move from different floors. If you buy a Revain with two brushes, it's an old device that you have to return. I still have the device I bought directly from Hoover so I now have two new devices. Update 1/2017: The device died after only 3 months of operation. I plugged it in, turned it on, it seemed like it wanted to turn on but it wouldn't turn on. I've searched the internet and it seems to be quite common. Either the fuse is defective or the motor is defective. I contacted Hoover and they said my unit is 2 years old so I need proof of purchase for a warranty repair. I had to take it to a vacuum shop. 3 weeks have passed and still no update. Hoover is currently selling a brand new device for $69.99 (lowest price I've seen is $59.99). I went ahead and bought another because it's the only machine that cleans floors. I used a steam mop and it barely cleans. Let's hope this is a newer model as it comes direct from Hoover and isn't resold through Revain. I have 3 dogs. 2 males. They piss all over the house all the time. I have hardwood floors throughout the downstairs and spot cleaning with a wet Swiffer was not effective, nor was wiping with Clorox wipes which left stains. We used a steam cleaner but it didn't seem clean. It was usually necessary to bring a janitor wiper and a bucket to mop the floors. This gets heavy and is a full pita, so make it at least once a month. I decided to buy it based on previous reviews, but I doubted its effectiveness. We figured this would work for spot cleaning dog waste for now. When we first tried it, our floors hadn't been washed in a long time. I wish I had taken before and after photos knowing how effectively it cleans. He cleaned so well and thoroughly that we ended up cleaning the entire first floor with it. It took a while as the water and waste water tanks were so big but the floors came out really clean with no residue, stains or film just like our bucket and mop. You only use a small cap filled with cleaner (a bottle of Hoover Multi Floor Green) as it is really concentrated. It cleans the floor so you don't have standing water that can damage wooden floors. The scrub brushes actually spin to clean the floors. We are very happy that the thing cleans really effectively and is much easier on the body than carrying a heavy mop. Totally justified our money. Would give 5 stars if the tanks were a bit bigger for less frequent replacements. Update: The brush block tends to come loose when we store it upright. Always make sure the brush head is installed before using the cleaner, otherwise you will only spray clean water. ***** I try to use the product as intended over a longer period of time in order to rate the product fairly. I rely heavily on honest, helpful reviews when I shop, and I want to help others make an informed decision as well. If you find my review helpful, [.]
