Puncture Prone Tubeless Tires

I've had this tire for a few weeks now and put 100-150 miles on it. Initial setup wasn't too bad, but not as easy as WTB decides. I use a 12 volt automotive tire pump to provide constant pressure while massaging the bead to seat it. Once the bead is flat, the pressure increases and the tire locks into place. After being on the rim for a couple of weeks and being asked to take the tire off to patch the puncture (more info below), the tire seemed to retain a 'memory' of the shape and snapped into place immediately with a simple track pump. Initially, a little sealant seeped through the tire at the transition from the tread to the tan sidewall, but that's okay. This didn't happen again on the second ascent. I ride in the Washington, DC area mostly on bike lanes but also on roads that connect to destinations. This is mostly tarmac but there are a few patches of gravel where sandy sand is washing away the track due to erosion. In these areas, a little more debris is usually introduced by the same water that causes erosion. During that time I had two flat tires: one from the smooth tread in the center and one from the chevron tread next to the smooth. The first puncture was a piece of glass measuring 2mm x 1mm x 0.5mm. It would blow out the sealant until all the pressure was gone, then hold more than 15psi of pressure without reopening. I found the glass that was said to be interfering with Stan's seal and put a patch on the inside of the tire just in case. After 25 km or so I had a second puncture. Now, as I wait to see if the sealant will hold the pressure after it's had some time to work its magic, I'm wondering if it's supposedly tougher than Kevlar's aramid backing. My 700x28c Continental GP4000 S2 tires have never flatted on same terrain and are hardly puncture proof tires. These tires were bought with the intention of increasing comfort, performance and safety for commuting and touring, but they fell in the latter category. since both advertise a thicker profile in the center of the tire.
