Review on Wexco Wiper Motor 4R3 12 R110D Three by Michael Bazen

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Reliable product but missing information

Wow the Wexco guys when it comes to instructions. These motors appear to be very durable and work great with pantagraph wiper arms. What goes in the box? Motor and a printed page of instructions for adjusting the steering angle and left/right parking on one page of paper. The back of the manual is blank. Great, but how do you connect this? There are three obvious contacts, but slow and fast speed. This is self-parking, so constant power is required to park. So there are four wires involved. So you need to negatively ground the body at the nut, away from the 3 pins mentioned. Luckily there is the internet where you can find out about it. The option of adjusting the steering angle and parking on the left or right is extremely flexible and well thought out. One note: the plastic gear on the worm gear is pushed back a bit in the housing, leaving you wondering if the crank will snap and ruin the motor. It's not like this. The gearbox is returned to its place after assembly is complete. If you're removing the drive to swap parking from side to side, I highly recommend putting some type of thread lock on the two screws holding the drive. Otherwise, one of them may fail and cause engine damage. If you mount two of these on the same circuit it is important to isolate them with 5 amp diodes. Otherwise they will switch to each other and never park in the off state. A pack of diodes is cheap and easy to put in power supplies for any windshield wiper. Just set the correct polarity. Suggestion: If Wexco is trying to save paper, how about we just print these wires on the back of the same sheet that you laid out for the park and pan angles? It doesn't cost you extra paper, just some extra printer toner. No big request here. Updated a year later: The new wiper motor I just bought now has wiring instructions.
