It's very bright and fun - felt like dressing our Yorkie in Christmas tree lights. With this collar you will definitely not miss a dog. The material is like rubber, very thick and heavy. I left the usual dog harness and attached the glowing leash to the usual collar. The light up collar was too big for our small dog although I was able to put it around my neck with ease. It could not be used to actually tie him to a leash. I noticed the light flickered and went out once - I had to shake the leash to get it to come back on. So I'm not sure how long it will last or the quality. I don't often go for a night walk, so I can't vouch for heavy use (e.g. a night walk).
