I'm not a fan of tools but I like quality tools. I already have a really good PEC square built/rated for very high performance. Thought I'd buy this just to have on hand if I need something to measure lumber (2 x 4) without breaking my really nice square. When I opened the package I was really impressed by the weight of this tool. It doesn't look like a cheap tool at all. Then I did a test where you take a square - draw a line down the length of the square, then turn it over and duplicate the line. To my surprise, this square is as square as my PEC! If you are new to woodworking I would suggest going for this square. I'm going to treat this tool like it cost me $100 just because it's so well made. I wish all inexpensive instruments were of this quality.
