Review on Enhance Your Shooting Experience with CAMTREE Hunt Quick Mount Rosette Handle Set - Upgrade Your DSLR Video Camera Cage Shoulder Rig Kit (CH-QM-H) by Matt Morrison

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Gets in and out of 15mm rails fairly well. Good length to extend or hold arms.

Very decent handle rosettes for a hell of a price. They seem solid enough, almost entirely metal. Virtually no flex. Highly customizable, meaning you can tilt, pan, and rotate the knobs on almost any axis. The knobs turn tight and the sockets don't move when closed. Rubber handles are easy to grip. Gets in and out of 15mm rails fairly well. Good length of arms so they can be stretched out or held close to the body. I was surprised that there weren't more reviews for this item since almost every other style of snap-on grips is in the hundreds of dollars. Cons: The tension knobs stick out too far. Why so big? Type of attachment to rails from below. The twist lock slides the inner piece of metal between the slots in the rails, causing friction and being pressed against the rails in the process. This is now 80% normal. but the grip is not as strong as one sometimes wishes. It may feel a little wobbly after prolonged use, forcing you to possibly re-tighten it. Also, if you lose grip underneath, it's easy for the whole thing to get out of hand, which can lead to disaster if you get my meaning. So on the one hand it is very convenient how it is attached to the rails. Especially when you're dealing with a Matbox and other stuff. On the other hand, I would like it to slide, with rail holes full, or the locking mechanism would be more secure. Also, I don't use, and probably never will, use wider rail mounts. This means the thing is wider than it should be and this can interfere with a tracking focus mount, for example. It's really annoying. I bet you wouldn't want to use this with an Arri Alexa super heavy rig. This is ideal for more setups designed for DSLRs. Does it help stabilize your recordings? Spring. This is entirely subjective and depends largely on the operator and not the tools they are using. Does it offer more similarities - sure. Does it increase your goddamn credibility on set? I bet it will!

Pros
  • Three hinge design allows for all angle adjustment.
Cons
  • Some Beetles
