Works with Dell 3470/3471 SFF desktop computer

This works with the Dell model 3470/3471 Small Form Factor desktop. I have total 24 GB RAM but managed to use only about 49% of the total installed RAM with this system. So total 24 GB installed RAM is probably a little overdoing for normal entertainment applications and some light gaming. This system is for sure future proof. Since RAM pricing was about 30$ for an 8 GB stick and an 2R 16 GB stick was 53$, then my reasoning was why not go directly with the 16 GB RAM (2400 Mhz) stick? Since the machine has anyways only 2 RAM slots and former pricing was over 100$ for an 16 GB RAM stick. The amount of RAM should be now future proof for about at least 10 to 20 years since my 8 year old Dell laptop had back then 8 GB of RAM as well as did this new machine come with 8 years later. I am sure in 10 years machines will not need 24 GB of RAM and the quad core processor is up to date as well as did my quad core processor of the 8 year old laptop. Heck, even an 15 year old Sony W. Vista 1.8 Ghz core 2 duo processor is as snappy with Windows 10, only 2 GB of RAM and an new SSD as any new computer today - no measurable difference. As far as I understand this Memory is made by SK Hynix in Taiwan. For this Dell model best is to go with an RAM stick which has no heat sink since it's an SFF desktop.I recommend this brand and particular RAM stick for this particular Dell model.

Pros
  • Replaced a problematic 8GB strip with 2 of these, exact same part number. Installed without a problem.
Cons
  • Requires opening up your desktop
