Review on πŸ”Œ Dorman 600-600 4WD Actuator Wiring Harness for Chevrolet / GMC Models, Black - Enhanced SEO by Jeff Zamora

Works like clockwork so far

Addendum: Today it was about 40 degrees, the sun was shining and the snow was melting, so of course there were puddles of water on the road. I got in a puddle like this today and it caused the electronic actuator to short out and try to engage the four wheel drive while driving at about 30 mph for two hours. Now the drive does not work at all, but the four-wheel drive indicator lights up. Hello Dorman!? What does the lifetime guarantee say about puddles? I don't know what to do here. Bought mechanically to upgrade to 92k 1500. So far it works like a charm. Plug and play with the existing two-pin drive connector and a simple connection to the key at power-up. No joint required. Those wire taps are a problem waiting in the wings. It was long enough to get the job done, and then some. (That's what she said) I was lucky and I had a hole in the firewall just behind the parking brake where it should have been, it was easy to connect the key. It even had a socket to reduce the chance of a short circuit. I was able to route the wiring harness far enough away from (hopefully) exhaust heat and rotating shafts that would rip out wayward wires. Will be updated when something notable happens.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Very expensive
