These glowing pens offer a good selection of primary and secondary colors. I like the case that came with the pens. This makes them portable and easy to store. The numbers on the school pencil make it easy to find the right shade by matching it to the color swatch I created. It would be great if this set came with a color swatch sheet. Colors that do not exactly match the color on the pen body. Some are just in the shade. The rest is almost the same. Dipping the sticks directly into water results in a smooth, creamy consistency. The finished texture resembles the look of an oil pastel; but dull and without stains. I used this method to swatch all the colors in this set onto 300gsm watercolor paper. Next, for those of you interested in using them for coloring, I would recommend printing them on corrugated and thick paper, you will be able to achieve richer color density without curling the paper or to tear. I recommend paper that is at least 160gsm and heavier or Bristol paper. Dying directly onto office printer paper produces wax streaks, and the paper warps when wet (this can lead to accidental mixing of colors) and tears easily. I am also attaching a picture of a sheet with samples of 3 different colors from the same color family. I used the watercolor pencil when it was dry to paint directly on the 300gsm paper. I varied the hue for each color square from soft to intense pigment saturation when dry. I used three different types of textured pattern brushes to showcase the finished texture after the medium has dried after painting. I hope this helps those of you who will be buying watercolor pencils in the future.
