I'm upgrading the cruiser. I bought a Schwinn and ALL of its parts except the frame were machined to the wrong tolerance so nothing moves like it should. Even the original crank was bent so the main bearings wore unevenly and broke after only 3 rides. It was cheap and I LOVE the frame so I'm buying upgraded parts for it. So I replace that bent crankshaft with this one. It seems to be working better. It's straight and all the details are twisted as they should. And it's black. I think it's painted, not anodized. I use this on a cruiser but I expect it will be just as good on BMX. Note: This applies to 1-piece crankset ONLY; NOT the one where the cranks (rods that hold the pedals) are removed separately. This does NOT apply to "closed" bearing types. Just an old fashioned setup with exposed ball bearings so you have to hand grease them when you install them. There are about half a dozen different types of cranks/bearings so make sure they fit your bike. Anything with the "1-Component Grip" setting should be fine. Everything else, not so much. I'm still waiting for the new bearing kit to ship, so I haven't installed this part yet. I just checked the threading and alignment by threading my old stock parts on it for a quick test.
