Review on Controller DROK Regulator Governor Modulator by Mike Goodwin

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Spark from radiator to outer case.

Immediately after turning it on, I saw an arc of sparks on the casing of one of the radiators. At first I thought my $175 motor was blown, but the primary fuse is blown, the secondary fuse is not blown, which is what I checked first and thought the motor was blown, the fuse on the driver board is not blown. Arcs to the outer case, or if you grab it and squeeze the case it will flex into a heatsink and fail. The heatsink is close to the case, about a matchbox thick, so the outer case is very easy to bend to contact the heatsink, the case is thin, which will cause a short circuit. There shouldn't be any positive or negative voltage between the heatsink and the case, but there is. I have no idea if I just got a bad one or if they're all like that. Other reviews mention a short circuit due to the cover closing and contacting the connectors. I'm certainly not using this motor driver board with any motor of any value, it scared me enough the first time not to make that mistake again. I'll just return it, not worth the risk with the DC motors I have.
