Everyone knows Freud is great quality - nice to see these Forstners are still made in Austria (that surprised me). With many established brands dropping in quality in recent years it's easy to get junk or low quality beats these days if you don't buy in person, even if you're spending more than a penny, so I was glad that Freud has kept her game. Some "import" brands like Ivy Classic try to maintain quality with cheaper tools, but this time they weren't the right size. I needed a 5/16" and apparently nobody else offers one without switching to the much more expensive carbide grades that are best for machine use - Freud to the rescue. I have a couple of Forstner from Freud, all bought 8- 20 years ago Actually it was the only tool that wasn't perfect but given the small issues with sharpening this type of bit it wasn't a problem and just took time to tweak stones I would have preferred a 3/ 8" shank but I have to use a thin one. Not bad, glad I found it.
