Description of 🪚 Freud Precision Forester in 16 Inch (PB 0015)

Hardened Steel Body - warrants a longer life and sharper cutting edge. Ultra Sharp Spur - ensures an accurate hole and resists “walking” on material. Steep Angled Cutting Edges - produce holes that are smooth and flat and create “chisel-like "curls for fast, clean chip removal. Quality Forged Construction - instead of casting, strengthens bits for extended life.

Use them properly and they will last a long time.

I love Freud's Beats and have been using them for quite some time. You can get a bad one from time to time, but they are mostly of the highest quality. All I can say is use them properly and for their intended purpose. And they should last a long time. We clean them with a brush after each use in the store and take care of them like children. Some call it overkill but ask me that after over a year of daily use it's not all overkill. Clean your bits and they'll last a lot longer!

Pros
  • High test scores for grip and durability
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Strong beats, clean holes, impossible to lose.

The product image is not proportional to the bit so I have included this photo showing what a 5/16 inch looks in relation to the shaft. As you can see in the top left corner the hole diameter is confirmed to be 5/16" and shank diameter 1/4" In terms of performance itself these drill bits are fantastic. I never thought I'd have fun using a drill bit, but here it is. The entrance is INCREDIBLY clean and the bits themselves are very strong and well made.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Some small things

This is Freud. Good for power tool parts and accessories

Everyone knows Freud is great quality - nice to see these Forstners are still made in Austria (that surprised me). With many established brands dropping in quality in recent years it's easy to get junk or low quality beats these days if you don't buy in person, even if you're spending more than a penny, so I was glad that Freud has kept her game. Some "import" brands like Ivy Classic try to maintain quality with cheaper tools, but this time they weren't the right size. I needed a 5/16" and…
