The red part broke off after wearing it for 2 months! First, a ball fell off, but part of the "metal screw" got stuck on the black horseshoe. I understand that sometimes they break. It happens. I wanted to unscrew the second ball to change the earring but it fell off at the touch. It was eaten where it touched my skin! I only clean my piercings with water and wear ear plugs when I dye my hair to keep chemicals away from it. If prolonged contact with the skin can destroy it within a few weeks, DO NOT approach the ear. I had to cut off the black horseshoe piece with pliers to get it out as the small metal screws that were inside the balls were too small to loosen. consideration. probably because it happens so often
