I bought this card reader to work with online ATMs. I forgot my account information and couldn't access my bank's website or use their sign-in app. In addition to the phone call or personal visit, my bank offers the option of using my ATM card with a compatible card reader to access the website, so that the customer does not have to be delayed for another two agonizing hours. In the small box that comes with the card reader, there is a small CD (with the driver) and a quick start guide on one side. Even if both are not exactly helpful, I have had successful experiences with this product. It's plug-n-play and compatible with my MacBook Pro (macOS Catalina 10.15.7). The card reader is now successfully reading my ATM card (Visa). My experience tells me that after plugging it into your computer (via an adapter or not), you have to restart your computer; otherwise the reader may not be recognized.
