Review on πŸ”§ High-Performance 3/8" Black Lisle 68210 IPR Socket for Ford Diesel Engines by Frank Webster

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Not for Ford 7.3 YPR

Matches my early 2003 Ford 6.0 perfectly. The IPR is not visible on early 2003 CA trucks with the turbocharger installed. Everything to do with removal and installation is done 100% by touch. I used a socket with a universal joint, a 6" extension and a ratchet. I also had to use a 3 foot piece of copper tubing as a bridge on the ratchet handle to break the IPR loss. After loosening the IPR, remove the socket and loosen the IPR with your fingertips, this is a very difficult part to reach the first time, I had to remove the degas tank, the air filter box and the bracket that attaches the air filter to the turbo, the metal CAC tube, Remove the FICM and the FICM mounting bracket.I disconnected the 3 rearmost injector connectors from the injectors, 1 ground wire and the rearmost stud on the intake manifold where the ground wire was attached.Installing the IPR was easier than removing it now that I knew where it was and didn't have to search for it blindly. The use of Topside Creeper made this job possible. If you work with your own vehicles then the Topside Creeper is a mu ss
