Review on Light Switch Guard 6 Pack by James Parker

Modern tie, lanyard around the finger

I've recently started upgrading the lighting in my house with smart lightbulbs. Anyone with smart lightbulbs knows that the light switch needs to stay on for them to work properly. Sure, over the course of several weeks we naturally turned lights off when we left rooms or areas of the home, effectively disconnecting smart lightbulbs from our network and Alexa. So I went to the internet to see if anyone has a solution to this problem. There are several different switch covers but this one was my favorite and the easiest to use. The magnets will stick to the screws on the switch plate and voila! Did you know that most switches have standardized screw positions? This is a subtle reminder to keep the switch off for our family and guests alike. However, I read some reviews before purchasing. Let's be clear these are not child restraints. They are not designed to prevent children from removing the cover and touching the switch. While the magnets are strong enough to ensure a secure connection to the board, these covers can be removed with little effort by simply grabbing and pulling them away from the board. So for those of you who are leaving bad reviews because your child could easily remove these covers, please read the product description and understand what you are buying. For me, however, it was an inexpensive solution to the problem. I had to metaphorically tie a rope around my finger to remind myself not to touch the switches in my house that were connected to smart lightbulbs. Great simple solution to a simple problem. Of course I want to be the genius who came up with this idea.
