Review on ๐Ÿšต Zefal 'Cristophe' Half Toe Clip for Mountain Bicycles by George Bell

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Toe clips and tightwad improvise for plastic pedals.

I ride a Testa folding commuter bike in the hilly area of Sasebo (Nagasaki Prefecture, Kyushu Island, Japan). Plastic post removal tool for the front pedal (see attached photo. Okay yes hack) and use the same tool to flush cut the front of the pedal. Drill holes to install small nuts and bolts (plus lock washers) and toe clips. (To finish the job I would use THREAD LOCK fluid to keep the little nuts from loosening.) I haven't used the bike yet (October 04) with the new toe clips because my stock bike seatpost is too short for my size is. and I'm waiting for a recently ordered 18" seatpost.) However, I recently adjusted the seatpost (added another smaller seatpost on top of the other seatpost) and plan to ride it soon. Toe clips are not new to me. I had strapped toe clips and rode a mid-70's Benotto road bike until it was stolen after the 1979 flood at SFA University in Nacogdoches, TX. Nowadays my shoes sometimes slip off the pedals when I ride in the rain. I WILL be more efficient and confident when I go to Sasebo, Japan.
