Improvise, adapt and overcome….

I love these - they give me exactly what I wanted, extra kick on the pedal without moving my foot forward on the pedals. I wear US size 14 shoes and they fit me perfectly. Now for the installation... Before purchasing I read the negative reviews and most of them complained about inadequate mounting hardware and while I agree I found a workaround. I didn't set up my pedals for them, but I knew they might work if I thought about it a little... First, I knocked out the orange reflector that was…

Toe clips and tightwad improvise for plastic pedals.

I ride a Testa folding commuter bike in the hilly area of Sasebo (Nagasaki Prefecture, Kyushu Island, Japan). Plastic post removal tool for the front pedal (see attached photo. Okay yes hack) and use the same tool to flush cut the front of the pedal. Drill holes to install small nuts and bolts (plus lock washers) and toe clips. (To finish the job I would use THREAD LOCK fluid to keep the little nuts from loosening.) I haven't used the bike yet (October 04) with the new toe clips because my…

Great upgrade for the price!

I love these half finger clips! My first pair lasted four years until I died a few months ago driving through what turned out to be a deep, water-filled pothole. I'd probably still be using the same pair if a violent blow hadn't eventually broken one of the half braces. Until then they have withstood countless miles of daily wear and tear on my MTB hardtail which has become a tough commuter. They are sold as a pair that comes with all the hardware to mount them to standard pedals. I like its…

Great product, mixed reviews.

Change from a mountain bike with full clips and straps to this more upright hybrid. My new bike has a higher stand, so I wanted something that would allow me to get on and off faster at intersections - and ice cream trucks! These strapless clip earrings are perfect for that. They keep my feet from slipping forward very well and even offer some side-to-side stability. Don't expect too much "buoyancy" when pedaling, that's not what these clamps are for. Traditional clip-on straps do just that…

If you want to go strapless it's the best deal in town

I compared Zefel to Delta's strapless toe clips: Some web browsers preferred Delta (smooth, lighter) over others rpt. They are poorly packaged and arrive bent due to the differential. size) - I chose the Zefal L/XL (the larger attraction) with no regrets, although I've ridden a few miles since then. The 2nd couple will foot the bill wisely. Size 11 shoes are easy to slip on and off for city trips and stopovers. Now if only manufacturers would give us the full service of making an affordable…

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • Minor issues

I'm a naturally clumsy person and just don't like things that require my active distraction, so I decided to give these a try. The material is durable and I'm not worried about it breaking. The metal bracket that came with it didn't fit my bike so I had to discard it. The only downside was that they immediately started to loosen and I lost a bolt on my second ride with them. I expected them to weaken over time and planned to strengthen them with Loctite, but wanted to give them a test run…

Buy these if you don't use a clipless system

I fitted these Zefal Christophe finger clips to my Touring Hybrid a year ago after not getting used to the Time system. They go very well with my Merell Moab Ventilator running shoes. We can divide pedaling into four quadrants: (1) downward motion; (2) "Rollback" at the bottom of the rotation; (3) move up; and (4) "push forward" at the top. Clampless systems offer no advantage over these Christophe clamps either when pushing down or when "pushing" up. These Christophe clips allow you to push…
