Review on ๐Ÿšต Zefal 'Cristophe' Half Toe Clip for Mountain Bicycles by Fred Vazquez

Great upgrade for the price!

I love these half finger clips! My first pair lasted four years until I died a few months ago driving through what turned out to be a deep, water-filled pothole. I'd probably still be using the same pair if a violent blow hadn't eventually broken one of the half braces. Until then they have withstood countless miles of daily wear and tear on my MTB hardtail which has become a tough commuter. They are sold as a pair that comes with all the hardware to mount them to standard pedals. I like its simplicity, there are no straps to adjust. My feet slide in and out with ease. It's very economical, I don't have to buy clipless pedals and a separate pair of shoes just to use them on these pedals. While probably not as efficient as a clampless system, they certainly help more than just flat pedal. They also help keep my foot in the right place when shifting or cranking in the wet. Don't let my opening paragraph fool you, they're pretty tough on price! It's not a soft, cheap, or brittle plastic. The resin it's made of is very strong, and it took a lot of effort to finally break one of them. Even then I was more than happy to pay another $8 for the exact same item, confident that if there was no other destruction it would last me for at least a few years.
