I bought these for my bedroom to replace a "sounddock" that never seems to have been used. This and a small Bluetooth amphonic amplifier are much cheaper and offer better sound quality. I've been listening to it every day since I bought it. Amazing bass, great highs, slightly raspy but should soften with use. The speakers fall off a bit at medium frequencies. What the heck anyway? $100 for a pair! Installation: 48" tall knee wall with rear bypass access and frame manifold 1" above installation, touching wall studs 16" from center and insulation behind speakers. Installation was incredibly easy. Compare to Paradigm Studio 20s. I liked them so much so i decided to give them a try. : 2 way in wall, 8" woofer, 1" tweeter, 40Hz-20kHz, 90dB, $100, new. Both are 8 ohms. The Paradigms are much better in the mids , have smoother highs and the bass is much nicer although it doesn't sound as deep as the Miccas Intense midrange music like Paco de Lucia (Flamenco), Dianna Krall, David Bowie, Chet Baker, Paul Simon sound much better on Paradigms Hard Rock like Pearl Jam, Led Zeppelin and even a bit more folk like Dave Mathews and U2 don't make that much of a difference. I haven't compared classical music. Movies I actually liked a bit better on MICcas. Miccas spread the sound better too, Paradigms are more directional, maybe a box or a recessed wall? So the comparison isn't fair, to me the Paradigms sound as good or even better than the speakers I compared them to in the $1200-$1800 range when I bought them. Miccas are only $100 a pair and I prefer them a bit for movies. Despite some weaknesses, they don't tire you out for long listening to music, which for me is the most important feature I look for in a column. Update: Comparison with BIC America DV-62CLRS 6" 2-Way Center Channel Speaker This is the best comparison of similar level devices, although the BIC is a center channel designed for a different purpose. BIC : 3-way, dual-port box, 2 x 6" woofer, 0.75" tweeter, 38Hz-20kHz, 90dB, $110 new, 90dB $50 (each), new. Both are 8 ohms. Micah. Fuzzy base and less clear highs, but better balance of the mids. I've noticed that the mids are reduced in the Miccas sound because the bass and treble are so strong. I did a little research and found this "Inwall speakers always produce more bass, just like cabinet speakers produce more bass the closer they are to the wall. I'm still trying to convince myself that $50 speakers can't sound that good. When installed properly, believe me the base is not a problem I have a site called audiocheck(dot)net g found. I hear or "feel" up to 16 Hz. Far below the advertised range of these speakers.
