Really love this item! At first I just wanted to check how much a lock without a key would cost. After thinking about it, I think it would be an annoyance if the only option was to enter the code every time. Also, oddly enough, many of them require at least 8-digit codes. I quickly realized that most of the 'smart' locks around here looked very shady and weren't worth taking the only risk between my house and anyone trying to get in. I got lucky and used this one for a little less and took a chance and bought it. At first I wasn't planning on spending more than $100 for a lock, but the more I looked, the more I realized I needed a fingerprint sensor and a quality lock. It was easy enough to install. I would say maybe 45 minutes. Judging by other reviews I was expecting the installation to be seriously difficult, but in fact it is just 1) Drill a few holes with the drill bit provided, use the template provided 2) Screw in about 8-10 screws 3) Insert the dowel 4) Insert the batteries, done. (FIX for people having problems with fingerprint recognition). As for actual use. I found the fingerprint sensor pretty dead. My girlfriend was having trouble with it and it took her a few tries. The SOLUTION to this problem is to program the same finger multiple times, each time in a slightly different position. Since this requires keeping your finger in the same position that you programmed it in, programming the same finger multiple times in slightly different positions works like magic (because every time you put your finger on the fingerprint reader, you probably will do it differently every time). You do this just as if you added a new user, only your finger is in a different position instead of the new user. You do this about 4 times and you're done. The lock looks very nice and very high quality. The details look pretty solid. I like that it doesn't light up until you touch it. Whoever sees this for the first time will be confused how to get in without a keyhole (which is a good thing). I was very pleased that the handle can be rotated to the left or right. I found that all these castles don't offer that. It's quite bright, so you shouldn't have any trouble seeing the numbers or the fingerprint sensor. It says it will give a warning when the batteries are getting low, but you can still use it 1000 times before the batteries actually run out. It has 3 keys (the keyhole is under the lock on the bottom), the ability to program up to 99 different codes and 99 different fingerprints. You also have the option to delete users. I program it every Thursday, so that my cleaning lady can clean my house and then on Friday I erase it. To be honest I didn't think I would like the fingerprint sensor but now that I've had it for over a month I couldn't imagine not having it. It's so convenient, and other people think so.
