Have this for my miniature dachshund puppy. She was cage trained before I got one but since she has no siblings she doesn't like being locked in her cage. She will go in with a treat or a toy and hang out, but she will not sleep in it at night with the door closed. However, she has no problem with this playpen! She handles it very well and cannot jump out. My mom bought a smaller one for her 3 lb chihuahua who now jumps out of hers (sometimes we think she might have kangaroo DNA somewhere) so my mom has to zip it up when she leaves her. But my 5kg dachshund won't jump out of this larger one and has way more room for a couch, toys and leg extensions. I love that it's open but not open, she can't put her mouth between the bars like in a drawer, and it's very easy to clean. I also like that it folds and sets up very easily and comes with a carrying case if I need to move it or take it with me on the go. Because it's so light, as opposed to a wire box, it would be ideal for this purpose.
