Looks great - could use stiffer stitching

I bought this cap because the foam on my car was starting to deteriorate. This product seems to be an all rounder and while it easily fits the wheel diameter, even in my car the steering wheel is a bit thick so the edges of the leather don't quite reach every wheel. the other without a bit of stretch, which is fine because I want a comfortable fit. The skin itself feels very comfortable. Comes with two needles and plenty of cord. The cord is braided and makes a very durable impression. Instructions are NOT included but Youtube has videos of similarly styled hubcaps that can give you an idea of what you need to do. However, the seams on the skin itself are weak. This type of binding is designed so that you feed the binding through the stitching (rather than the leather itself) and pull them together. Now maybe my handlebars are just thicker than most and it took me more effort than usual, but the stitching ripped in three places. I started using the included cable to fix the areas, but after the third time I realized I just didn't have enough cable to do it. If the seams were sewn with braided cord instead of thin thread, this wouldn't be a problem. If you have a 2000+ Ford/Lincoln/Mercury, be aware that the same problem can occur. . I ended up just buying a strand of stiff, waxed black cord here on Amazon for about $5 (the kind you would use for leather work) and re-stitching it, which worked really well and I was able to complete the job. Assembly. It fits perfectly and looks pretty awesome. I've spent quite a bit of time working on it and had a lot of fun with it. If you're the kind of person who enjoys figuring out how to make things work, this project is definitely for you.
