I've had a very hard time with straighteners in my life - my hair is coarse and thick which means I have to blow dry for about an hour and straighten for about half an hour to get everything the way I want. Most straighteners I've used in my life don't have a temperature control feature, which made my hair feel like it was on fire. I couldn't even get a grip on my hair after using some of my previous straighteners because they were so hot my hair was left behind. I honestly didn't expect much from the straightener. It didn't look like some of the more expensive models but I was desperate for a new iron and decided to get one. I'm really glad I did! Some of the highlights are below: - Firstly, the amount of extras that came with the iron was great! I love hair clips because they help me comb my hair when it's hot and the brush really helped me pick up all of my baby hair and get a really good thorough straightening. - The iron itself is beautiful! This model allows you to control the temperature at which you iron your hair, allowing me to get it into the thick/crusty range (around 375) without going too far into my hair's risk zone. On the bottom of the iron you can control the temperature and there is a LARGE digital display to show you the temperature. The readings have a row of blue LEDs showing when it's heating up and when it's done. I like it because it gives me confidence that I'm smoothing out at the right temperature for ME and not getting too cold or too hot. I couldn't believe it but when I used this iron I had to re-tape the iron. (DO NOT RECOMMEND) to make sure the straightener is actually on as my hair felt so cool immediately after using it. I managed my hair easily and without any problems which helped me to style my hair better! Overall I am very satisfied with this product! My hair didn't look particularly shiny after using it; However, I feel like it has more to do with the products I've used than the iron itself. For the price and payback this is a great iron if you don't want to spend hundreds on more expensive brands!
