Review on Honeywell Home RWD21 Water Leak Alarm: Superior Protection by Resideo, in Sleek White by Robert Capers

This thing saved us from a major disaster. We kept one of these in the basement next to our laundry tub in case there was a problem with the washing machine and unknowingly put it under a window that was leaking. In heavy rain we set off the alarm from the basement and when we went downstairs to check we saw water pouring through the window. Otherwise we would not have noticed the leaking window until the next day, when it would have been too late to discover the leak. ***Update*** I changed my rating to 1 star because we had an alarm. Placed under the kitchen sink, it didn't work. We didn't know our kitchen faucet was leaking until we saw water leaking from the floorboards into our basement. The water level was high enough to set off an alarm because this thing was getting soaked. Maybe the battery is dead? I would have thought there would be some sort of low battery warning before it dies, but maybe not?
