This is amazing. I was a little skeptical that this would work, but felt uncomfortable sending in my irreplaceable VHS tapes to be turned into digital files. It's incredibly easy to use and plays my VHS tapes perfectly. You simply use the supplied red/white/yellow cable to connect it to the output jacks on your VCR and use the other supplied USB cable to connect it from the device to your computer's USB port. Click to select which one you are using, a red/white/yellow cable (or alternatively an "S jack" cable), select your VCR's tape length (I just set it to 2 o'clock and it's easy to stop earlier if your recording ends early), select the folder where you want to save the digital file on your computer, then press the play button on the VCR and record on the computer screen. You can watch the tape on your computer while it's being recorded. You can also watch cassettes without recording in this way. This is a great little device! Then I open the file in iMovie, edit the blanks, improve the quality, and save.
