Latching the gas caps can cause the Check Engine light to illuminate.
Was not easy to lock at first (turn the key to open the gas cap before trying to use it on the car). described what happened, except that the check engine light came on. The mechanic asked if he had used a gas tank cap. I said yes, and was advised to replace the gas cap with a non-latching one, and if the 'Check Engine' light stays on, send it in for diagnostics. !***
