Review on 🌡️ Honeywell RTH221B1039 Programmable Thermostat by Shahed Cleveland

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very easy to install and program

For installation you will need: - a regular Phillips screwdriver to attach the bracket - a small flat head screwdriver to attach the wires - a drill and a 3/16 inch (3/ 32 for plaster) bit to attach if not the same size as your existing light fixture - two AAA batteries - flips the switch to turn off the power. Installation was very easy, I just took off the old faceplate, unscrewed the four colored wires (they have wire labels if you're color blind), drilled the holes and installed the new bracket, reattaching the wires to the correct color markings. Programming just got easier. I just scrolled and set the time, then four different temperature/time settings throughout the day, then set the function. My previous thermostat was a round Honeywell dial shaped thermostat and I hated it. It will flake and the temp will jump around or just not accept the setting and instead not work (despite appearing to be set correctly) which can cause the house temp to rise/drop dramatically in inclement weather. I don't recommend their dial thermostats, but this one seems to be exactly what I was looking for. The display isn't very big and I've found it to be a problem if you're visually impaired (the old one had big numbers and a backlight), but it's fine for me. If you're looking for an extremely basic thermostat with daily (not 7-day) settings and don't want to spend a lot, this might be for you. I only installed it today so haven't used it extensively yet, but the only downside I've noticed is a much louder click when the heater is turned on than our previous model. Ideally, I will improve over time. (UPDATE: The clicking is clearly audible, if that bothers you, I would recommend a different model.)
