These Galilean loupes make a good spare pair for dental work or a great pair for hobbies like woodwork and fly tying. The biggest downside is that the working distance is 420mm (16.5 inches), which is small for me. But honestly, it compares well to other major Galilean loupe brands that cost 10-20x more. (If you're really spending a lot of money on loupes, go for the Keplerian [i.e. prism/wide field of view]. Then you'll see a real leap in quality over optical quality.) Also, while loupes are good, they're lightweight. The front weight distribution is heavy so they don't feel good on my nose. The neck strap helps. The plastic case looks like metal but is strong enough to protect the loupes. The included light works, but isn't as bright and clear as, say, Lumadent. The light also heats up very quickly, so be careful! haha! In my opinion, these magnifying glasses and lights give you more bang for your buck than any other pair. I wouldn't call them great, but for the price you can't beat them. You do the work.
