I got this because my window phone holder keeps falling off and I wanted something else to keep my phone in a good place and it helps. It's nice, tacky and attaches well to the dashboard, but you'll have to adjust the firmness of the holder yourself, as heavier phones (generally only if you have a large case) can cause it to wobble more easily. It's also pretty easy to set it up in different locations depending on how you prefer placing your phone and the size of your car. I think you could attach this to the windshield but as the base is bulky it would probably be better to place it on the dashboard or use a smaller suction cup even if it falls off from time to time. The other thing is that it holds my phone pretty well and the spring (for now) responds well when I want to let go of my phone so hopefully it will last longer than others I've had. I also don't worry about it flying off my dash like others do because it's so sticky. Overall this is a pretty good phone mount and it works well. If your phone isn't too heavy, more like a phablet, or you like really bulky cases, then you might want to look at a tablet or a large phone mount instead.
