I use them outside in lights next to the front door. There are no instructions on how to use the app, and in particular I found it difficult to use the scheduling feature. I connected 6 bulbs out of 3 and then grouped them without much difficulty. After grouping, I wanted to set daily on and off times. This was confusing as each individual bulb has a schedule button, the group I created for 6 bulbs has a schedule button, and the smart button at the bottom of the app has a schedule feature on the automation tab. As far as I can tell, the intelligent/automated scheduling process works. So first I clicked the "Smart" button at the bottom of the app and made sure I was on the "Automation" tab. Here I clicked the "+β button at the top right of the page and then selected "Scheduleβ. On the next screen, I select the time I want to schedule (although it doesn't yet tell me which lights I want to turn on or off), then press "Repeat". on this page to indicate how often the event should occur (again, there is no indication of what the event is yet). I selected all 7 days of the week on the recurrence tab and then clicked the back arrow. Then I clicked Next at the top of the page. On the next page I chose "Start Device" where I had to specify which bulb or group of bulbs I was trying to schedule. to another side. Now I can choose if the time entered in the first step was on or off by pressing the power button. This gives me a popup where I can choose to turn it on or off (I chose ) and then had to click the 'Save' button on the popup. This removed the popup and took me back to the previous page, which also has buttons for brightness, color temperature, and timer. I didn't use those buttons, so I clicked 'Next' at the top of the page. This took me to a resume page with more buttons and another save button at the bottom of the page. When you click that save button, you'll get another popup asking if you want to start using the automation you've created. Easy right? This takes care of the on time and now you have to go through the whole process again to set the off time. Maybe there's an easier way to do this, but there's no documentation available to tell me that - I've used trial and error to get to what I've done. There's really no reason why it should be that difficult - the design of the application should make it easy to achieve the goal. It seems like too much work to schedule a simple on/off function. Using the app to control the lights directly looks nice, and you can turn on a light individually or a group, change the color temperature if it's white or change the color entirely, and change the brightness too. So unless you're trying to plan, the app is probably pretty easy to use for direct light control. The lighting seems to work well and does what it's supposed to, but I had to deduct a star for the lack of app documentation and difficulty using it to schedule on and off times.
